Botox Restylane Juvederm

Botox®

Botox® injections are designed to target specific areas with a tendency to develop wrinkles, such as crow's feet, frown lines, and neck bands.

How Does Botox® Work?
During the quick 10-minute procedure, a medical protein called Botulinum A Toxin is injected into the targeted area. After a short time, the Botox® temporarily relaxes the facial muscles that cause the wrinkling, thereby creating a softer, more relaxed appearance. Thousands of people report noticeable results and are pleased with the dramatic difference. Although the procedure is temporary, it is safe and very effective.

Are Botox® Treatments Safe?
Botox® treatments have been used safely and effectively for over ten years to treat many ophthalmological and neurological disorders. Each year thousands of patients receive Botox® treatments for a variety of conditions and it is quickly becoming a popular treatment for reversing the visible signs of aging.

Benefits of Botox®:
  • Remove wrinkles and frown lines without surgery
  • Simple in-office procedure performed by our board certified doctor
  • Lunchtime appointments take only minutes
  • Results noticeable within several hours
Restylane

Restylane is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle.

The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin.

Is Restylane effective?
Yes. Clinical studies show that patients who were injected with Restylane for the treatment of facial folds achieved an optimal cosmetic result. These results were sustained for a longer period of time, as much as twice as long, than with collagen.

How does Restylane work?
Restylane works in two ways:
Upon injection, into the mid to deep dermis, the NASHA gel adds volume and fullness to smooth facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane integrates into wrinkles and folds. Restylane integrates into dermal tissue, then attracts and binds to water molecules to help maintain volume.

How long does Restylane last?
The average treatment results last six months or even longer.

Is any of the material left in the skin after it's degraded?
No, unlike permanent fillers, Restylane is completely degraded. Over time, NASHA gel is eliminated by the body, leaving absolutely no trace of the injected material.
JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is a new cosmetic facial filler that has been called "the next generation" of wrinkle busters.

Unlike Botox®, which is used for lines produced by muscle contraction, this is used for lines at rest. It is the latest stage in advances made with hyaluronic technology.

Hyaluronic acid is already found as a natural substance in the body and is used for replenishing areas of the face where volume and fullness of the skin have been lost.  Hyaluronic acid in the body fills spaces between collagen and elastin fibers in the skin and is present in all living tissues.  It acts like jello and can suspend these elements in it, just like jello can suspend fruit in a mold. It attracts and binds water, hydrating the skin and providing smoothness along with volume. When hyaluronic acid is diminished, as in aging, the result is a loss of skin volume, and then folds and wrinkles appear.

Non-Animal in origin JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is a biosynthetic and is non-animal in origin. Chances of allergic reactions are very low because of this. No testing is required prior to admission.  Results are safe and effective for all types and colors of skin. But. . . JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is also crosslinked, making it less likely to enzymatic breakdown.  As a result it lasts much longer than the body's HA, which must be replaced daily.

Differences Between JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel and Other Fillers
The primary difference between  JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel and other hyaluronic acids (HA's) is that JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel has a higher concentration of the hyaluronic acid than other fillers. The formula used to produce Juvederm results in it being smoother than other gels in popular use.

JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is completely transparent, while the other gels use a suspension process, and particles can be seen with the naked eye.

While it contains more HA and is smoother, studies have yet to prove it is better or longer lasting than other HA's. It's main competition is Restylane, a substance made by Q-Med of Sweden. Restylane has been around for longer and it is the number one filler in the world.

Facial Wrinkles and Folds Beware.  JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel comes in two density formulations:  JUVÉDERM® Ultra for average depth depressions and wrinkles, and  JUVÉDERM®Ultra Plus which gives deeper and heavier volume. Time will tell whether it will compete with other proucts. JUVÉDERM® is a registered trademark of Allergan, Inc.
